Thinking about Solar?

Here are some of the basics.

Reclaim Solar Energy Tour-1

Solar power is the ability to convert energy
(or as we like to say "Reclaim Solar Energy") from the sun into usable electricity. Sunlight is either directly harnessed as thermal energy (heat) or through the use of photovoltaic cells in solar panels and transparent photovoltaic glass.

Solar-electric or photovoltaics (PV) technology converts sunlight directly into electricity. PV can provide electricity for residential and commercial buildings, including power for security lights, air conditioning or recharge an electric vehicle.

Solar Panels

What to look for: output 390W or more?, product warranty, 25 years? performance warranty, 15-25 years? how efficient are the panels, 19%, 20%?

Solar Inverter

Solar Inverters

There 2 types or inverter, String or Micro. String inverter is best if there isn't any shading and links all the panels to 1 inverter.  Micro inverters are best when you need to manage shading and love to check out how efficient your system is by looking at an app on your phone.

Solar Battery

Solar Battery

Is it compatible with your existing system? Does your solar system have the excess energy to fill the battery during the day? Is it worth it? How long will it take to pay itself off?

It all starts with your existing bill!

How much energy do you use now?  Look for the average daily cost and the average daily usage ... it will be a number with kWh (kiloWatt hour) next to it.  A solar system will produce energy that can reduce the amount of energy you use each day.

The snapshot on the left are all from the same house, guess which bill came in after they installed solar!

Is it important to understand that your solar system can reduce the number of hours you need to pay for but the amount your pay per hour will depend on the plan you sign up for with your energy provider.

See the difference

Modern solar systems can you tell you how much energy they are creating for you.  You see performance of the system and once you have linked your energy provider you see also see your savings!

Adding solar analytics is an optional element of any solar systems but if you do add it then you can learn more about your household and the use of energy.  Once you have the facts on the screen in front of you it is easy to adjust your habits and save even more.

Reclaim Solar Energy has signed on to the Clean Energy Council Solar Retailer Code of Conduct, a voluntary scheme authorised by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). Companies that have signed on to the code have committed to provide a higher standard of quality and service, raising the bar in the solar industry. They will also provide a minimum five-year whole of system and installation warranty on solar power systems.
